So here goes:
I'm 24 weeks and 3 days! I've been definitely feeling uber preggo these days! I swear I went from not showing to KA-POW! BAM! I'm huge! There were a few days where I thought I just looked fat, with a beer gut but those days quickly passed. My daughter isn't being shy anymore! I'm carrying her so much higher than I was with my son. She's so far up into my ribs and lungs already. Up until this past week, she's been head up. But Friday, during my hospital visit..yeah ill get to that in a minute...she is now head down! Now let's hope she stays that way. Ok so back to the hospital experience..
Last Friday, we had to drive my grandma to the boondocks past McConnellsburg to stay the weekend with my Aunt Lois. The trip was an interesting one. We followed my gps and it literally ran us into a river. We turned around ad follwed it another way. Eventually after a few more tries, asking someone and trying to call where there was no service.. we found the house. Spent some time chit chatting and whatnot, and then..the pains started coming. I didn't know what to make of it at first, but then it got worse. I thought maybe I had to pee, so I managed to get and go but the tightness and lower uterin pains got worse. I tried to get my pants up and barely walked to the bathroom door to open it and get to the kitchen where my mom and everyone else was. I staggered over to where someone helped me to the living room. I had tunnel vision so I really don't remember. I got to the living room and tried to lay down. But it was just painful! After a while we made the decision that I had to go get checked. It was almost 30 minutes to the nearest medical center. Let. Me tell you, driving on back country roads while you feel so much pain is horrible!
We made it to the McConnellsburg medical center. I was given a bed and a room of my own. Then found out they don't have an obsterician on duty...ever. The doctor first thought I was in labor so started talking about transporting me to an actual hospital. But I started to calm down and contractions did too. I was ordered a sonogram to check on the baby, my placenta and to see if I dilated any. Baby girl was perfect! Measuring bigger than 24 weeks and healthy heart. My placenta was looking good too. In front towards my right side. And they couldn't say about being dilated any..so back to the room for an old fashioned dr check. I have to prop up on a bed pan..and it was very uncomfortable! But worth it to find out my cervix was closed. Oh, also my blood and urine came back normal except a little anemia.
After a few hours of being monitored, and eating a spaghetti dinner, I was released. Thank goodness. It was such a relief. Until...I got my diagnosis papers which said I was diagnosised with a threat of miscarriage. Broke my heart for a few minutes. But I told myself, she is alive and fine and I just have to take it easy. She is still moving all the time and it conforts me, that's for sure.
So since then I've been trying to relax as much as possible..thanks for any prayers that are sent this way! :)
